For example, getting your boyfriend a pair of ‘designer socks’ from Matalan is not going to be as appealing as a pair of nifty Lyle and Scott designer socks this winter. Other brands which came up in the feedback where: Happy socks, Hugo Boss socks, Armani Socks, Ralph Lauren socks, Paul Smith socks and Ted Baker socks, although there were several mentions that Ted Baker can be found at Boots. As far as we are aware, boots are not selling Ted Baker socks, but there already is this mental connection made between brand and store, so Ted Baker is perhaps the lesser of the choice our of all of the above mentioned.

Buying the socks from an authorised stockist is key, no one wants a knock off Nigel pair of socks off eBay, and presentation boxes where also very popular however, this will bite into your budget, as these lovely gift boxes can actually cost more than the socks in the first place.
