We asked 100 of our followers if they thought designer socks made a good Christmas gift? We aimed our question at the male market. I think everyone knows a female is much less likely to appreciate a pair of socks for Christmas, well, unless they are for your Nan!

Going on the feedback we received the basic answer is ‘yes’  they do however; the brand of the socks is a very if not the most important factor. For example, getting your boyfriend a pair of ‘designer socks’ from Matalan is not going to be as appealing as a pair of nifty Lyle and Scott designer socks this winter. Other brands which came up in the feedback where: Happy socks, Hugo Boss socks, Armani Socks, Ralph Lauren socks, Paul Smith socks and Ted Baker socks, although there were several mentions that Ted Baker can be found at Boots. As far as we are aware, boots are not selling Ted Baker socks, but there already is this mental connection made between brand and store, so Ted Baker is perhaps the lesser of the choice our of all of the above mentioned.

Buying the socks from an authorised stockist is key, no one wants a knock off Nigel pair of socks off eBay, and presentation boxes where also very popular however, this will bite into your budget, as these lovely gift boxes can actually cost more than the socks in the first place.

The great thing about getting a pair of designer socks as a present is you can achieve it with a £10 budget should you wish, they are quite flexible in sizes, so quite unlikely they will need to return them having being too small or too large. Designer socks can make a person feel more confident, and as our feedback shows, this would make a great Xmas gift for a loved one as it can make you feel more sexy!

Designer Belstaff Jackets for Men, whats with them?

It appears that everyone is going a little nuts for the designer brand Belstaff all of a sudden, well here in the UK anyway.. I thought I would take the opportunity to have a look into the designer brand clothing line to see what all the fuss was about. Firstly, like most well known brands, they are on facebook, Belstaff facebook group. With over 5,500 fans, that pretty much tells me, they aren’t as big as Lyle and Scott, but perhaps a growing brand that has the potential to be in the same league.

I checked out Mainline Menswear, the mother of all designer clothing sites to find they had 5 jackets for sale, prices in sterling range from £350 to £415.. Wow!! Is this not a little excessive for a jacket I thought? Yes if you don’t know Belstaff, but no if you do. These jackets are lightly waxed with quality details signed off with their Belstaff logo badge.. Ok, so who wears Belstaff Jackets then?
