Outdoor Fashion Furniture

The outdoor patio is perhaps the place in the home that the fashion conscious home owner gets the ultimate opportunity to flaunt their sense of taste. It perhaps in appreciation of this fact that the search for fashionable outdoor patio furniture is among the most popular searches in the home improvement genre, the number of people whose homes actually have patios notwithstanding.
While in days gone by patio furniture was seen as ‘add-on’ which didn’t warrant much thought, this has changed and contemporary furniture commentators are increasingly giving patio furniture much thought and attention. Indeed, there are some contemporary furniture commentators who have devoted themselves entirely to patio furniture commentary, thereby serving the needs of the thousands of people looking for information on fashionable patio furniture, where to find it and what to look for in it.
So, briefly, what is patio furniture, and where does one go shopping for such fashionable outdoor patio furniture.
Patio furniture generally includes the patio chairs, table and an outdoor umbrella to protect the people you will happen to be entertaining in your patio. The outdoor umbrella is of course optional, and not seen as an integral part of the outdoor patio furniture – but not having it means that your entertaining on the patio will largely remain seasonal (which is some places can be a very great limitation).
In terms of shopping places, the person shopping for fashionable patio furniture has the option of going shopping on the Internet or going shopping in the traditional brick and mortar stores. Each of these approaches to shopping for patio furniture has an upside and a downside to it. Going to the traditional brick and mortar furniture stores feels particularly attractive to ’shopaholics’ who like going shopping and interacting with the ‘flesh and blood’ vendors, whereas online shopping for fashionable outdoor patio furniture appeals to the modern and hip shopper, who is after the convenience and possible price saving shopping for patio furniture on the Internet offers, not to say anything of the variety the Internet offers to the person who goes shopping there.
Fashion Posters

Want to turn that miniature image of your favorite celebrity into a high gloss poster you can paste on the wall? Or could it be that you are in the
fashion industry, and want glossy posters to tell others about what you do and what your products are like – keeping in mind that the fashion world is a place where a picture is often ‘truly worth a thousand words?’
If you are facing any one of those scenarios, poster printing – fast turning into an indispensable tool in the fashion industry – is something you will want to know about. Normally accomplished through printing technologies called gravure printing and the whole range of technologies used in what is referred to as ‘large format printing,’ poster printing can transform otherwise ordinary looking pictures into graphics that catch everyone’s attention.
Obviously, if you happen to be in the fashion industry, stories about a technology like this can sound like music to your ears. After all, the nature of the fashion industry is such that a lot of communication with potential buyers has to be done graphically. Many of the people standing at a fashion store in some part of the world at this very moment looking for buy on or another item, whether a piece of ladies fashion or a piece of mens fashion, are doing so out of the influence of one or another glossy poster they came across, depicting their favorite celebrity or model donning the outfit in question.
Now how appealing such a poster turns out to be depends to a great extent on the specific poster printing technology employed in developing it. And with new poster printing technologies developing by the day (and old poster printing technologies being constantly updated), it is clear that the only fashion houses that can survive in the fashion world today are those that are ready to embrace technology and keep moving with it. After all, a fashion house that manages to produce really appealing posters of attractive people wearing the outfits it produces has already won half the battle – because in a way of speaking, fashion items are increasingly getting ‘judged by the cover only.’ Many of the fashion items we consider premium today, it turns out, are not premium because of their ‘quality’ but rather because of endorsements they have received from various celebrities, where such endorsement is presented to the public through some glossy poster bearing a high definition and well lit photo of the celebrity, posing wearing the fashion item in question.
If you are a fashion house dealing in vintage fashion, you could think that you have nothing to do with all this poster printing buzz, because after all, vintage fashion has to be presented somehow ‘drab’ to look authentic, or such is the thinking in many people’s minds. Granted, items of vintage fashion are best depicted in the photography of the time period they represent. But since they are to be targeted at a modern audience, it often turns out that you have to present them against a glossy background (without altering their color schemes, of course) if you are to get anyone to look at them more than once.
And so when all is said and done, every player in the fashion industry, regardless of their interests, finds themselves having to embrace modern poster printing technology to survive.
Home decor is the new fashion

The tremendous partnership existing between fashion and home decor is going to be at the forefront of the Interior Design Show this year in Toronto. Deirdre Kelly has her own take on this wonderful association that is about to unfold.
It is now formal and can be announced. The lengthy period of courtship has culminated in wedlock and the couple – Canadian fashion and house design establishments have collaborated and become one.
For a long time now, they have threatened to set a new trend and revolutionize the fashion world through their partnership, following in the footsteps of Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani. They were perhaps encouraged by the success the deceased Dorothy Draper enjoyed when she collaborated with John Galliano to launch the spring 2009 collection. This was for Dior for their ready-to-wear ensemble.
Wayne Clark had a point, when he declared that home décor is going to lead the way in fashion and people will now graduate from purchasing classy suits to purchasing tailor made furniture centerpieces which would reflect their thoughts and identities.
This fashion designer himself will be a major participant in this year’s IDS which will be the 11th such year and will witness The Runway, a fantastic piece of high home collaboration between Dee Dee Taylor Hannah and Clark, ably assisted by designer Kimberley Newport and luxury jeweler Myles Mindham.
This event will also showcase the most recent Missoni Home and Fendi Casa exhibits and will welcome the creation of lighting fittings conceptualized by Canadian teams in partnership with Swarovski.
Swarovski which was once associated with Coco Chanel has undergone a revival of sorts by its association with fresh talent and will make its debut at the IDS through this tie up with Canadian studios.
It is not as if only the top end outfits are combining fashion with innovative designs. Other examples include the collections by Zellers in partnership with Alfred Sung Home and US color major Pantone joined hands with Gap to roll out a line of T-shirts. Inspiration for paint companies has always been provided by Runway with companies like Sherwin-Williams going the extra mile by sponsoring Fashion Weeks in many cities.
To quote the fashion designer Taylor Hannah, “The runway showcases what will be trendy in one, two, three years’ time.” She is also of the firm resolve that she would like to imbibe the fresh colors being displayed at such events for her output in future.
Her latest home décor creation will consist of a catwalk surrounded by rows of elevated seating spaces and also includes a VIP relaxing area where the sculpture creations of Sophie DeFrancesca will be hung. To lend luxury and exotica aspect to this décor, the most recent Hugo Boss creations will be exhibited by models behind a succession of secret doors. The picture is complete with a conceptual wall creation by Andrea Marcus, the painter from Toronto.
Taylor Hannah abhors a dull interior and prefers feminity which she finds in flowers and fashion. It is this thought process to interior designing that she seeks to demonstrate through her out of the ordinary exhibit. This lady is the proud owner of a work shop and an equal partner in a house building firm and often finds refreshing ideas in the works of fashion designers, painters and even photographers. She genuinely feels that everybody can learn a lot from each other during such events.
In keeping with the above sentiment, Taylor Hannah permitted total freedom and liberty to the designers and they responded with wonderful creations. So you had a chair with zebra like stripes of grosgrain ribbon and upholstery with a matte finish. Yet another chair designed by Mindham studded with valuable stones made its presence felt.
He reveals that he used something with the feel of metal and coated the chair with silver leaves to give it the look of a jewelry item. The back of the chair was embedded with a medallion studded with real diamonds.
This architect compares the design of a room to dressing and he feels that one must adopt an approach that has to be sharp and have an eye for detail. That he feels represents ideal fashion.
